Electric Rhythm is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the dance form of clogging, which is a true American Folk Dance. It is also geared toward providing a venue in which young and old alike can find a positive, safe and fun environment for social interaction, and an opportunity to improve physical fitness through dance.  The dancers range in age from four (4) to sixty-five (65) and offers dance at the fun level and the competition level.

Electric Rhythm was formed in 1991.  Since then the group has performed in Disney World, Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN, qualified to compete in the Junior Olympics in New Orleans, LA and performed in the National Showcase at the National Clogging Convention in Orlando, FL as well as many local venues including nursing homes and charitable events.

As a competition team, the group has won numerous first, second, and third place trophies as well as many Grand Champions. In Tampa, FL at the Florida State Fair Clogging Championships, the Young Adult team won Overall Grand Champion.  In Charleston in 2004, the group took overall Grand Champion and qualified to dance on the American Talent Stage for the evening performance.

All of the Electric Rhythm competition teams consistently place in the top 3 of their age division in every category they compete.

The first session of classes, "Beginner class", lasts 8 weeks. The class meets weekly on Mondays from 6:30-7:30. Here, the basics of clogging are taught and practiced. At the end of the session, the class will have learned at least one whole dance. The pace of the class depends on the pace of the dancers, so everyone is accomodated.

After you have mastered the basics and completed the beginners class, you are welcome to start coming to "Intermediate class" also knows as "Club", and learn more challenging dances. Club meets every Monday at 7:30 and also lasts for 8 weeks. This is a great time to learn some harder steps and polish up on the old ones. We have a lot of fun learning new dances and reviewing older ones. The club is made up of all the people that dance with Electric Rhythm. Dancers who compete and those who dance for fun and exercise are all welcome. Club members range in age from 5 year-old peewees to grandmothers and grandfathers. Newcomers are always welcome. When the team is invited to do exhibitions, anyone from club is welcome to participate.

The "Advanced" class is the final level of classes. Here, more challenging stepwork is taught. (this usually follows club) It is recommended that any dancer wishing to compete complete the Advanced class.  After Advanced classes, dancers can choose to either dance only with the club, or join a competition team as well.
